give us this day, our daily bbang..: toms and rain are not a good combination

mmm about the title.. let me explain. today it rained. a lot. it was really weird to see rain in korea since it has been so sunny. did you know that every person in korea has an umbrella (and actually uses it) except us? we are from portland and portlandians don't use umbrellas!! we totally should have used an umbrella though. it rained SO MUCH. also, i didn't bring any other shoes besides toms. ugh. toms are made out of fabric so it has no protection from rain. my shoes are now soaked :( yes i know. i should just suck it up and be a [wo]man. which i kind of am.... anyways, today we spent the day in an underground mall! this mall is called the express bus terminal mall!! now this mall is right under the first department store.

before those pictures come up, we went to a bakery near the subway.

everything is all nicely packaged and ready to give as a gift!

some of these pastries look like pizza. some even have hot dogs in them!

i am not joking when i say this place smells like grilled cheese sandwiches

what did i get? i got the twirled pastries with sugar around it. honestly, i think paris baguette is better. these were a little more chewier than i what i prefer

this is the underground mall!! now i didn't take anymore pictures of the mall because i didn't think any of you wanted to see pictures of a bunch of people and clothes. did you want to see?

after we shopped for a couple hours, we got a little hungry. we went into the shinesegae department store and ordered our food

i ate bibim naengmyun

this was SO SPICY. i couldn't stop drinking water

my mom's cousin ate, and shared, memil guksu

my sister ordered soondooboo (although it tasted more like dwenjang jigae)

alivia and i shared the strawberry one and everyone else (my aunt, my mom, and my mom's cousin) shared the regular one

i was going to post a closeup picture of the regular ppat bing soo but auntie yoomi said it looked like poop.. nevertheless, everything was delicious! i can't wait to go shopping again! oh and by the way, i kept my promise, didn't i? :) if my writing sounds a little fobbish, it's because i really wanna give you the korean experience.

just because i had nothing to do and because the kids in korea had school canceled due to possible "radiation"in the rain, i shall post these pictures of us fooling around.
