even though i was EXHAUSTED from losing three hours of sleep due to my online classes, i still went on the tour to the blue house! the
blue house is pretty much the white house of korea! it is beautiful there. now there will only be a couple pictures of the blue house. why you ask? well if i did take pictures, i might be going to jail. and if i went to jail, i would not be able to blog and many people will be very sad. i hope..
before i get to the pictures, i will tell you the story of our adventure TO the blue house. so we go out of our little hut and try to get a taxi. we drive alll the way to some entrance to the blue house (which apparently isn't for people who want to take tours) and the soldiers decide we should go the long way. the taxi driver proceeds to go to the other entrance on the other side of the blue house. we finally get in and we see this statue thing but we don't see our tour guide (we actually didn't get a tour guide). so my mom asks a special service dude (which i might add are all quite good looking hehe) and he tells us we have to go up some hill to some gate. it was a very long walk that included whinny toddlers and one certain little girl that just HAD to go to the bathroom. we get to the gate (i don't even think this story is right. i'll check with the mother in the morning) and there a many secret service men. we ask them what to do and we finally get some real help. they tell us that we forgot to register at the beginning so they call some people to help us register and then soon enough, we start the tour. if it wasn't for this one man, who i didn't catch the name, we would have never started the tour. THANK YOU MYSTERIOUS SECRET SERVICE MAN!
oh about the sujebi. this is supposedly a famous sujebi place called samcheongdong sujebi. it was quite delicious and it came out really fast! OH and the kimchi was superb!
alright. sorry for the huge rant about the blue house. i was tired and nothing was planned out well. this makes a very unhappy alexis. :) okay. let's get to the pictures already.
| this was here to greet us when we got to the second entrance. i think it's a mix of a chicken and an angel. maybe it's the korean version of our eagle? |
| my aunt told me this lady's job was to stand here and look out for danger. would you like this job? study well children. |
| why is the blue house called the blue house? well because it has a blue roof, of course! |
| this is the "illegal" picture i took. hehe i feel like a rebel! (just to let you know, when i took this, i didn't know i wasn't allowed to take pictures) |
| now i only put this up because of that guy over there. by the way, my aunt took this. |
| this tree is in the middle of the nokjiwon garden. they say that this garden is beautiful in the summer. hopefully the grass is greener in the summer hohoho |
| my happy family <3 |
| this magical machine was our translator |
| aww all the troublemakers |
| this big group is staying in a small three bedroom house. how do we do it? i have no idea |
| my grandparents on my momma's side. they've been married for a whopping 50 years! oh and see those boxes in their hands? the boxes contain two mugs. when we go to the white house, we don't even get to go in, let alone get any cups! |
| you see that gray stuff over there? that is goguma ggim. alivia, lucas, logan, and i ate three plates of it. |
| oh man that kimchi was so gooooood |
| the aftermath |
| later that night, we went to home plus! (this is not my picture) |
| alivia and i decided we were hungry and got some dukkboki |
| even this wasn't as good as soomi chang's original dukkboki |
| this is how koreans recycle! instead of getting bags (unless you bring your own) you would bring all your groceries and put it in a box. if you want plastic or paper bags and you didn't bring your own, you would have to buy them |
| this man was nice enough to help us with the taping. (we're box-taping noobs) |
| yay for korean snacks! |
| this is the awesome escalator that has no stairs so you can take your cart up! |
| cool right? |
| this after only a week in korea. just imagine what she's gonna be like after a month O.O |
so sorry for not blogging. just knowing i had to do this all over again made me a little frustrated :/ because i didn't do a post yesterday, i shall do another one today!!! i pinky promise.
