delicious food items and sortedfood

if you were wondering what i was doing for the past hour...days...okay weeks, here it is: words with friends. i was ADDICTED to this game for a couple days. i would not look up from my darn phone but, no worries, it's starting to get better. i now look up from my phone every hour.

so in korea, i found this youtube channel called sortedfood. this channel was made for college students who don't really know how to cook.. this channel was made for me!! except i'm not a college student YET. anyways, i would stay up until like 2am watching ALL of their videos. it was quite awesome. because of their channel, i am convinced i can successfully make jambalaya and homemade hamburgers. hopefully this is true.

while i am still waiting for the right time to make those two objects, we went to auntie susan's house. now SHE can cook. she made salmon, green beans, and salad. it might not sound like much but HOLY CRAMOLY IT WAS GOOD. i ate three full plates of food, licked clean. actually i would've licked it clean if it wasn't a paper plate..

i'm just gonna throw these in here: MINI VICTORIA'S SECRET PANTS

of course they're fake but they are freaking awesome.

yeah.. alivia got 104 points for this word. this is the reason why i'm starting to hate this game

SALMON. SO FLAVORFUL. SO AMAZING.

even these were amazing and i didn't even know that was possible.

one word: ambrosial. look it up.

sara made these beautiful chocolate strawberries. i had the privilege of eating the deformed ones.

hahah i love her. she's mah baby and will soon have a brother and sister named alexander and olivia

incredible thunderbolt

we got them

we finally switched to verizon!! woohoo!!! alivia and my mom got the incredible 2. my dad and i got the thunderbolt! these are amazing phones compared to alivia's go-phone and my silver slide phone that was pretty much broken. why did we all get the same phones? so alivia and i can teach my parents how to use them. oh yeahh.

i couldn't find my memory card reader!

yes. that is my excuse for not posting for exactly two weeks. haha. lame, i know, but it's the best i can think of AND it was true! although i never really bothered to look for it :)

this post is going to be about our last day in korea [i can't believe two weeks has passed already!], our adventure in the airport and the doughnuts we ate, and what i've been doing for the past two weeks [did a facial, made ho dukk, helped my mom make dinner, and electrocuted a gummy bear].

last night..

OF COURSE we have to have our goodbye cake

our trip just wouldn't be complete!

this is a strawberry and pistachio cake. sounds gross but it's DELICIOUS.

i think all cakes in korea are delicious haha
day we left.. time to pack up!
auntie lynda's bags: four total

auntie yoomi's bags: 4 bags, 2 boxes

my bags: 5 bags, 1 box

grandparent's bags: 3 total
and the grand total is: .... 16 bags and 3 boxes!! and this is not including carry ons, pillows, or instruments.

at the airport

alivia ate soondooboo. it was probably the best out of my family's food choices..

my jajangmyun. it was not that good. too watery :/

mommy's dolsot bibimbap. we ate bibimbap so many times, can you tell?

logan and emily ate udon with yummy takwon

this actually wasn't that good either. how do you mess up on udon..

alivia and me just had to have goguma cake

i wonder if they have these here! that would be so wonderful
dunkin doughnuts. now i've never been here so if they have any of these [doughnuts] in america, please let me know.

this was theeee best doughnut from the box. it had the texture of dukk but it tasted somewhat like coffee and chocolate mixed *drool*

this was just one of those old fashioned doughnuts. i was lucky enough to take this picture

she's so dang spoiled.. and so mean to me!
i didn't really like this doughnut. those chunks tasted like hard chocolate with coffee but it was NOT the same as the first one

this kinda scared me because the topping looks like dog food or something

it was not good.
this was very interesting too. a doughnut filled with red bean.

honestly, i wouldn't get this again
friday evening/night, my family left me. my mom and sisters went to the beach. my dad and brother went to a hockey game. i was alone for 5 hours hehe
so i did a facial! the top left corner is my mask. the top right is my toner/snack. the oranges and fruit salad is my snack too! here are the steps:
step 1 - clean your face of any makeup
step 2 - use a scrub and clean your face

step 3 - do a ten minute steam. this was my citrus steam. MADE MY SKIN FEEL AMAZING.

step 4 - do a mask. i did an avocado and lemon juice mask. MADE MY SKIN SUPER SOFT.

step 5 - eat some fruit salad. i made mine with strawberries, bananas, and mangoes [from costco. not good at all. doesn't even taste like mangos]
step 6 - use cucumber as a toner and rub it all over your face
now you're done! you can spray your face with a moisture spray for extra moisture

monday night, we made ho dukk

my mom bought this from, i think, g-mart. all you need is the box, the stuff inside the box, and oil. lots and lots of oil.

first, you dump the stuffed pancake mix and the yeast [on the other side of the bag] into a boil. add water according to directions on box.

dump the stuffed pancake jam mix in a smaller bowl. this is the goodness inside the ho dukk

OIL YOUR HANDS BEFORE TOUCHING THE DOUGH OR IT WILL STICK TO YOUR HANDS. roll the dough into small little balls, make a little well, and pour about a tablespoon into the well. put on oiled plate.

keep making dough balls until all the dough is gone
ahh don't i look so pro?

oil pan and put about three balls onto the pan. squish balls with ho dukk press [we bought ours in korea!]

flip.

squish until they look like pancakes and transfer to clean plate.
now, enjoy!
*not responsible for burnt tongues*

where was alivia in all this? eating a hotdog with gochujang.
yesterday, alivia and me were supposed to cook dinner. the entree we wanted to make was apparently not "up to par" with my mother's taste buds.

so she made pasta with mushrooms, onions, and vege chicken.

yum.
my mom wanted to make it like this because we watched a cooking show the day before and this is how they made their pasta.
the things tv can make us do
it looks good, right?! oh it was

alivia made the asparagus. not oiled, salted, or peppered for my taste ;)

but it makes a very pretty picture

the final plating

now for zee garlic bread. we found this in our fridge

how old is this? no idea.

the fambam eating dinner!

in chemistry today..WE ELECTROCUTED A GUMMY BEAR WITH POTASSIUM CARBONATE!

first, we melted the potassium carbonate to make a nice little pool for the gummy bear

we then chose our victim *dun dun dunnnnnn*

the beautiful aftermath.
does anyone know what burnt gummy bears smell like? i do. it smells like burnt smores :D

kinda looks like mold doesn't it?

oh yeahhhh

if you're wondering, we did learn korean. especially emily:
