old friends, coffee, and pretzels

today, we met up with one of my parents' friends from their college years! i know what you're thinking, "alexis, isn't that from like the dinosaur ages?" guys, let's not be mean okay? let's just get to the pictures shall we?

han mi ri   this place is super nice

out of all the little kids, ella was the only one to come with us. you should feel very special ella!!

oh man. this jjuk was soooooooo delicious

everything was presented very nicely

i'm not exactly sure what this was called :/ or even was hehe

the brown thing was this cinnamon thing that sorta tasted like dduk. the next two were ppu chim

after we finished that, out came moo gook and a few other things

mini sushi (without the fish!)
this was some potato thing i think. i don't really know the names of anything :(

once we ate that, out came the main course!

i'm pretty sure this was called hot pot something..
while we were eating the soup, out came these fried mushrooms!

ahh now that we're done, we can finish off with some tea,

persimmon dduk, and

grapefruit!!!

overall, it was a very nice meal and we had a great time!

my mom's friend introduced us to tom n toms coffee!

this is their menu even though you can't really see it.. we ended up getting apple cinnamon, almond, and cinnamon sugar pretzels

oh man. i wish i still had this bag in my hand. ooh so good!

as we were going home, we saw cheonggyecheon
this is the beginning of a 8.4 km walk that we did NOT walk, thank goodness
but we should've since we ate so much.. :/

haha ella insisted that we took a picture of her beside the fountain.. gosh she's gonna one strange little girl when she grows up
i should probably go to bed now. i have a class in 4 and half hours. which means i have to wake up at 12:30am. BUT THAT'S NOT IT. i have ANOTHER class in 9 hours. here, that's at 5:30am -___- wonderful.. just wonderful

  1. Hey, where is the Han Mi Ri restaurant? I'd like to eat there when we get to Seoul. So when we see you in 2 weeks, I expect you to be fluent in Korean. You can be our tour guide. Can't wait to get there and eat.

  2. Hey is that the buddhist restaurant where there is strong inverse relationship between appearance and taste?
