i enjoy macarons

i do enjoy macarons but this is not what this post is about. this is a very special post for ALIVIA CHANG. today, or yesterday for me, is alivia's 14th birthday!

i don't have a birthday present or anything special for her [yet] so i decided to dedicate this blog post to her <3
you are a very special person to me, alivia. although i call you names, bother you, and other stuff, it is all out of love. i love you so much. i don't know what i would do without you. i wouldn't have anyone to talk to. i wouldn't have anyone to come to the bathroom with me when i'm scared at night. i wouldn't have someone to stay up with me to watch bones or the mentalist. i wouldn't be able to watch illegal movies on the internet. i wouldn't be able to learn to get along with people who are the total opposite of me. i wouldn't be the person i am today. and i thank you for that. thank you for teaching me to get along with people that annoy me. just kidding :) i love you and i hope you have many more birthdays!

when we bought the cake, it came with candles,  pop out streamers, and a knife to cut the cake!
the cake was from paris baguette!

for some reason, alivia REALLY likes goguma pastries. this cake's filling was goguma!! the things koreans think of..

the birthday girl!

happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear alivia, happy birthday to you

blowing out the candles

this tasted almost exactly like snapple tea. alivia didn't really like the tea. instead, she just wanted the bottle.

man, i really do love macarons
someone buy me some when i come back please!!!
alivia's presents: macarons, crackers, gochujang chips, peach tea, and water in a cool bottle. she was ecstatic. i wonder what my father bought her..

i hope you had an awesome birthday, alivia! only one more year till you can drive! :D uhh daddy, please write on my wall so i know you didn't have a heart attack.

ps did you know there was a difference between macaroons and macarons?

  1. It's me Auntie Sue: I used ENK's gmail address. Happy birthday Lex and Alivia!!!
    Pictures are great to see!
I never had Macarons only Macaroons from Ken's Artisan Bakery near NW 23rd. I'll get you some when you return. Gojuchang chips sounds just as interesting as your mom's ketchup potato chips. I just want to jump in and join in the party there.

I fed your dad and uncle James yesterday. They ate well. Your uncle said, "you didn't go to India on this mission trip did you?" He honestly didn't know that I just returned from that long 30 hour flight from halfway around the world just hours before the grand Korean home cooked meal that I prepared for Uncle Eric who insisted that I feed his buddies from HV as well. Yup. I did. I'm back in the groove again. :) 1/2 month has already gone. Enjoy the other 1/2.
